§ Mr. Skeetasked the Secretary of State for Energy if he will give a preliminary report of the results of the international fuel cycle evaluation programme; and whether the stand taken by the United Kingdom on reprocessing spent fuel elements has been vindicated.
§ Mr. Norman Lamont[pursuant to his reply, 29 November 1979, c. 786–87]: The final plenary conference of INFCE was held in Vienna this week; and the reports of the evaluation have been adopted by the 60 or so Governments who took part, which included the United Kingdom. Following their adoption, the reports have been published by the International Atomic Energy Agency. Copies of the reports have been deposited in the Libraries of the House. The Government will now consider the findings of this important international evaluation and any implications it might have for United Kingdom policies.
