HC Deb 21 February 1980 vol 979 c306W
Mr. Wigley

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food in what ways his Department gives recognition to the Welsh language; and if he will list the statutory forms used by his Department which are either bilingual or have Welsh versions.

Mr. Peter Walker

My Department's scope for giving recognition to the Welsh language is restricted because of my limited responsibilities in Wales. On 1 April 1978 a wide range of functions which were formerly the concern of my Department became the responsibility of the Secretary of State for Wales, and the associated forms are now the concern of the Welsh Office. The statutory forms used by my Department are in the English language.
