HC Deb 21 February 1980 vol 979 cc323-4W
Mr. Wigley

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what is the amount spent per head of population by the central Government upon housing in Wales.

Mr. Wyn Roberts

In the year ended 31 March 1979 the net expenditure on the Housing, Wales Vote together with the housing element of the Trade, Industry and Employment (Welsh Office) Vote was £113,352,808; an average of £40.95 per head of population. These figures take no account of mortgage interest tax relief or of payments made by the Department of Health and Social Security to supplementary benefit claimants in respect of housing.
