§ Mr. John Garrett
asked the Minister for the Civil Service if he will place in the Library a copy of the report on the management review of the Exchequer and Audit Department.

§ Mr. Channon
Because of the independent status of the Comptroller and Auditor General, this review did not fall within the normal pattern of management reviews which are commissioned by and submitted to Ministers. The report of this review was made available to the Committee of Public Accounts by the Comptroller and Auditor General and was published as Appendix 1 to its second special report 1978–79 (House of Commons No. 330) a copy of which is already in the Library.
