§ Mr. Jim LesterFuture levels of unemployment are very difficult to forecast, but it is widely expected that unemployment generally will rise in the coming months. I would hope that unemployment in the East Midlands will continue to remain well below the national average. Improvements in the overall employment position will depend on the ability of industry to increase its productivity and competitiveness.
