§ 28. Mr. Parkerasked the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster if he will reconstitute the committee to advise Mr. Speaker and himself on matters relating to works of art in the House of Commons area of the Palace of Westminster.
§ Mr. St. John-StevasI am pleased to announce that Mr. Speaker and myself are now in a position to appoint members to the new committee. We have agreed that the membership should be limited to seven, and exactly seven nominations have been put forward. They are: the right hon. and learned Member for Hertfordshire, East (Sir D. Walker-Smith), the hon. Member for Plymouth, Sutton (Mr. Clark), the hon. Member for Staffordshire, South-West (Mr. Cormack), the hon. Member for Canterbury (Mr. Crouch), the hon. Member for Dagenham (Mr. Parker), the hon. Member for Middleton and Prestwich (Mr. Callaghan).10W and the hon. Member for Warley, East (Mr. Faulds). My right hon. and learned Friend the Member for Hertfordshire, East will be chairman. I hope that the committee will be able to hold its first meeting very shortly.
