§ Mr. Russell Johnstonasked the Lord Privy Seal what criteria govern decisions taken by the EEC Commission to suspend food aid to any particular country.
§ Mr. Neil MartenThe EEC Commission could be expected to suspend food aid if the conditions of the agreement under which it was being supplied were not being observed by the recipient country. In addition, the Council has suspended food aid where the internal circumstances of the country were such as to make it unlikely that the food would reach the intended beneficiaries.
