§ Mrs. Chalker[pursuant to the reply, 12 February 1980]: At the end of 1979, about 39,250 people in the Republic of Ireland were in receipt of United Kingdom retirement pensions or other benefits administered by the Department. The annual rate of payments amounted to approximately £38 million.
