§ Mrs. Knightasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will take steps to eliminate in future the long delays which sometimes occur in the payment of the Christmas bonus to pensioners in old persons' homes.
§ Mr. PrenticePensioners in old people's homes are normally paid by order book and should, in common with other pensioners, receive the Christmas bonus when the pension order in respect of the relevant week is cashed. I am not aware of any delays in payments to these pensioners, but if my hon. Friend has a particular case in mind I would be pleased to look into it.
