HC Deb 06 February 1980 vol 978 c227W
36. Mr. Russell Johnston

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he is satisfied with the ability of Scotswomen granted paternity awards against residents of England to secure payment, as a result of the different legal systems.

Mr. Rifkind

Alimentary decrees of a Scottish sheriff court, consequent on an action for affiliation and aliment, may be registered in a magistrates' court in England, and will thereafter be enforced in the same way as would be an order of the English court.

I am not aware that this procedure in general gives rise to any difficulty.
