§ 45. Mr. Maxtonasked the Solicitor-General for Scotland what progress he has made in ensuring that there is reciprocity between English law and Scottish law as respects custody orders for children.
§ The Solicitor-General for ScotlandThe problems relating to reciprocal recognition and enforcement of orders for the custody of children as between the various jurisdictions of the United Kingdom are being considered jointly by the Scottish Law Commission and the Law202W Commission for England and Wales. A consultation document was issued by the commissions in 1976 and account has been taken by them of the comments received on consultation. I understand that the two commissions are now close to an agreement on a scheme for common grounds of jurisdiction within the United Kingdom.
