Mr. Wm. Ross

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what sums were spent in each of the last 12 years on investigation of complaints made against members of the Royal Ulster Constabulary; and how many complaints were made in each year.

Records of complaints made against members of the Royal Ulster Constabulary and the Royal Ulster Constabulary Reserve have been maintained centrally only since 1970. The figures for each year are as follows:
