asked the Secretary of State for Social Services why it has been necessary for him to suspend the payment of retirement pension to the Rev. S. E. Allso since 1 November 1979, particulars of which have been forwarded to him in a letter from the hon. Member for Holland with Boston.

I regret that payment of pension in this case was delayed because of an administrative error at the Department's Newcastle central office. The amount outstanding has now been sent to my hon. Friend's constituent and I would ask my hon. Friend to convey my apologies to him for this delay. I shall write in greater detail in answer to my hon. Friend's letter.
