asked the Minister of Transport why, in the light of his reply to the hon. Member for Liverpool, Edge Hill, Official Report, 3 December 1979, c. 48–49, the transcript of the Leatherhead interchange (M25) inquiry will not be made available to objectors until the issue of his decision letter.

No transcript was made during the inquiry, though a tape recording was made at the inspector's request as a supplement to his notes. A transcript of most of the hearing has, however, since been made for the inspector's use and will be included with the material made available for inspection when my right hon. Friends the Secretary of State for the Environment and the Minister of Transport announce their decision in accordance with the normal procedure.
