HC Deb 05 February 1980 vol 978 c126W
Mr. Alfred Morris

asked the Secretary of State for Employment what consideration his Department has given to assisting with the setting up of industrial co-operatives for disabled people; what recent action has been taken; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Jim Lester

[pursuant to his reply, 29 January 1980, c. 465]: Whilst the Manpower Services Commission is theoretically able to provide funds for the setting up of an industrial co-operative for disabled people where a scheme meets the criteria for funding as a sheltered workshop for the severely disabled, no applications have been received from potential sponsors.
