HC Deb 05 February 1980 vol 978 c116W
Q24. Mr. Wigley

asked the Prime Minister if she is satisfied with the progress of the general employment objectives of Government policy.

The Prime Minister

I am naturally worried about the upward trend in the level of unemployment. But I am satisfied that our economic policies offer the best hope of reversing this trend. We can stop importing other people's unemployment if we produce goods at the right price, the right quality and the right time, and if pay negotiations are conducted in such a way that workers do not destroy their own jobs in the process.
