Mr. Austin Mitchell

asked the Secretary of State for Trade what aid is given to exporters to other EEC countries by each member State of the EEC in the form of (a) credit guarantees, (b) direct Government grants and (c) tax incentives.

Because aid can distort competition, aid in the forms specified is not permitted under article 92 of the Treaty of Rome in so far as it affects trade between the member States.
