asked the Secretary of State for Wales what new road building schemes in Cardigan have been approved by his Department to the latest available date; and if he will make a statement.

[pursuant to his reply, 21 January 1980, c. 27–28]: No prosecutions have been brought against employers so far under section 105 of the Employment Protection Act 1975. Penalties are normally imposed under section 104 of the Act, taking the form of a redundancy rebate due to employers from the Redundancy Fund.

Information about rebate penalties imposed since the 1975 Act came into effect in March 1976 is given below:

costing over £50,000 have been added to the firm programme in the last three years: Rhydybeillen bridge, Sarnau (stage II), Penparc footways and the Morfa diversion. All are on the A487. The contract for the first was recently let. The starting dates of the remaining schemes have not yet been decided.
