Dickson withdrew his acceptance of the posts of Northern Ireland Parliamentary Commission for Administration and Commissioner for Complaints following a report relating to a case investigated by the Northern Ireland Commissioner for Complaints in 1973. I refer the hon. Member to the answer I gave on 30 January to the hon. Member for Newbury (Mr. McNair-Wilson, concerning the temporary appointment of Mr. C. M. Clothier Q.C., to these posts.
