HC Deb 01 February 1980 vol 977 c800W
Mr. Robert Taylor

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what is his present estimate of the likely proceeds of disposal of surplus Government accommodation by the Property Services Agency during 1980; and what is his estimate of the likely saving in public expenditure as the result of such disposals.

Mr. Geoffrey Finsberg

Proceeds from the sale of surplus Government accommodation, including land, on the civil and defence estates are expected to amount to about £50 million in the financial year 1979–80 and £60 million in 1980–81.

Information about the likely savings in public expenditure resulting from these disposals is not available centrally and could only be obtained at disproportionate cost.
