§ Dr. BoysonThe proportion of salaries of non-academic staff in England and Wales supported from public funds in the latest years for which figures are available, ie academic year 1978–79, is estimated at about 90 per cent. or £200 million at out-turn prices. This is approximately the same proportion as in the previous academic year, 1977–78.
