asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what is the longest period of time that a prisoner currently in Winson Green has been on remand in custody.

[pursuant to his reply, 12 December 1980]: The longest period for which any person held on remand in custody in Birmingham prison on 31 October 1980 had been so held was 391 days.
