HC Deb 18 December 1980 vol 996 c287W
Mr. Ernie Ross

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will list total revenue received by the Government from North Sea oil and gas from April 1979 to April 1980.

Mr. Peter Rees

[pursuant to his reply, 8 December 1980]: The available figures for 1979–80 are:

£ million
North Sea oil and gas revenues
Royalties 628
Petroleum Revenue Tax 1,435
Corporation Tax 166
Other oil and gas revenues
Value Added Tax (estimated) 425
Excise Duty 2,931
Total excluding non-North Sea Corporation Tax 5,585

I regret that comparable figures for corporation tax op activities related to oil outside the North Sea are not available.
