§ Mr. Whitneyasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science whether trials have been conducted into the feasibilty of creating a common examination system to replace the present O-Level CSE examinations; and if he will place the sets of test papers used in the Library.
§ Dr. BoysonJoint examinations operated by the GCE and CSE boards since 1972 provided evidence for the Waddell committee's investigation into the feasibility of 235W a single system of examination at 16-plus. A representative set of papers is held in the Department and I am arranging for examples to be placed in the Library.
