HC Deb 18 December 1980 vol 996 cc237-8W
Mr. Peter Robinson

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what was the price asked by the Northern Ireland Housing Executive for the land formerly reserved for educational purposes on the Lower Newtownards Road, Belfast: how many bids were received; and what steps will now be taken in relation to this site.

Mr. Goodhart

The land to which I assume the hon. Gentleman is referring was originally acquired as part of a housing redevelopment area and was to be used for the provision of educational and youth facilities. Some three acres are now available for other purposes and these were recently advertised as a potential site for private housing development. Bids were invited from interested parties and two proposals were received for this area. I intend to make a statement shortly on the result of these bids.
