§ Mr. Allan Stewartasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will make a statement about abortive expenditure on the now abandoned Hampden Park project.
§ Mr. YoungerI have today informed the board of Hampden Park Ltd that the Government will pay the full cost of the abortive expenditure incurred by it towards the redevelopment of Hampden Park. This amounts to £1,849,304.57, and includes all costs except those relating to expenditure to satisfy the requirements of the local authority under the Safety of Sports Grounds Act 1975.
