§ Mr. RifkindSo far this year there have been 11 assaults on borstal staff in Scotland. Six cases were dealt with by the governor who awarded loss of privileges; in three cases the courts deferred sentence for three months; in one case the court admonished the inmate; and in the remaining case social inquiry reports have been called for by the court to assist in deciding disposal.
