HC Deb 17 December 1980 vol 996 c193W
Mr. Peter Robinson

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will make a statement about the effect Government expenditure cuts will have on the opening of the much-needed geriatric unit at the Ulster Hospital, Dundonald; and when he envisages this unit opening.

Mr. Alison

[pursuant to his reply, 15 December 1980, c. 89]: I recognise the urgent need for new geriatric facilities at the Ulster hospital. The project involves the provision of 144 beds in two units. The Eastern Health and Social Services Board expects to bring the first unit into use during the first quarter of 1981. It is hoped to have the full project in operation as soon as possible.
