§ 45. Mr. Kenneth Carlisleasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will publish the latest quarterly figures for staff employed by regional water authorities.
§ Mr. KingAt 1 October 1980 the total number of permanent employees of the English water authorities, on a full-time equivalent basis, was as follows:

§ Mr. Wigleyasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will publish a table for each of the regional water authorities in England and Wales, showing their level of total expenditure for each since their inception, adjusted to constant prices.
§ Mr. FoxThe following table shows the total expenditure (capital plus revenue expenditure) for each water authority at constant prices.
§ Mr. KingThe level of rate support grant to the council will depend on its decisions about expenditure during 1981–82, according to general principles set out in the report which I laid before the House yesterday.
