§ Mr. Andersonasked the Secretary of State for Wales if he is now in a position to make a further announcement about the designation of an enterprise zone in Wales.
§ Mr. Nicholas EdwardsI have today invited Swansea city council to prepare a scheme under the terms of schedule 32 to the Local Government, Planning and Land Act 1980 with a view to the designation of some 735 acres in the Lower Swansea Valley as an enterprise zone. A copy of the invitation has been placed in the Library of the House. This is the first proposed enterprise zone for which the statutory procedures have begun.
