§ Mr. John MacKayasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what is the annual cost to the taxpayer of the Nature Conservancy Council in Scotland.
§ Mr. MonroI have been asked to reply.
The cost of the Nature Conservancy Council's Scottish-based staff and operations in 1979–80 was £1.3 million and for this financial year is estimated at £1.6 million. It is not possible, however, to attribute to Scotland an appropriate share of the costs of Great Britain headquarters and services.
