HC Deb 10 December 1980 vol 995 c402W
Mr. John MacKay

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what is the annual cost to the taxpayer of the Nature Conservancy Council in Scotland.

Mr. Monro

I have been asked to reply.

The cost of the Nature Conservancy Council's Scottish-based staff and operations in 1979–80 was £1.3 million and for this financial year is estimated at £1.6 million. It is not possible, however, to attribute to Scotland an appropriate share of the costs of Great Britain headquarters and services.
