HC Deb 09 December 1980 vol 995 c297W
Mr. Skeet

asked the Secretary of State for Energy what is his assessment of the availability of natural gas liquids in 1985, 1990 and 1995; and whether, and if so how and by what method, he proposes to allocate the resources to competing claimants.

Mr. Gray

Our tentative assessment of the arisings of natural gas liquids from the United Kingdom sector of the North Sea that will be recovered by systems now existing or planned is about 7 million tonnes at each of the years in question. Obviously this can relate only to fields already known at this time and, as our knowledge of these fields alters and we learn of new finds, these figures will change.

So far as the allocation of these liquids is concerned I must refer my hon. Friend to the answer given to his question on 6 November.—[Vol. 991, c. 630.]
