§ Mr. Robert Taylorasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will prosecute for fraud the man named as Dassu in the Times Law Report on Regina v Secretary of State for the Home Department, ex pare Ibrahim, on 28 March 1980 in connection with his fraudulent sponsorship of four immigrants for entry on the grounds that he intended to marry each one of them.
§ Mr. RaisonOn 19 May 1980 at Preston Crown court Mr. Dassu was convicted on four charges under section 25300W of the Immigration Act 1971 and was sentenced to 12 months' imprisonment in respect of each charge, the sentences to run concurrently.
