§ Mr. RaisonIn the financial year 1978–9, the latest year for which figures are available, 48,:560 game licences were issued by the Post Office, raising revenue of £263,216 at a cost of collection of £0.58 per licence. Figures for licences to deal in game which are issued by local authorities are not available and could be obtained only at disproportionate cost.
