§ Mr. O'Neillasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what arrangements have been made to monitor the effect on supplementary benefit claimants of closures of his Department's offices to public callers.
§ Mrs. ChalkerIt is the responsibility of local management to judge the effects of such closures on all claimants. If these effects prove to be more severe than those expected to result when the closure was planned, I am confident that local management would take whatever action was possible to mitigate them.
