HC Deb 04 December 1980 vol 995 c165W
Mr. Nicholas Winterton

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will make a statement upon the impending closure of the industry therapy unit for long-stay patients at Parkside hospital, Macclesfield.

Sir George Young

There are no plans to close the unit. During the past three months, however, there has been difficulty in obtaining orders and 60 patients were without work, There are now firm orders which will provide work for six months from January 1981 for 200 patients.
