§ Mr. Dobsonasked the Minister of Transport what was the total expenditure by his Department in 1979–80 and the estimated expenditure in 1980–81 on fees and commission to any outside bodies providing advice to or acting as agents for his Department in furtherance of the policy of privatisation of the assets of his Department or of nationalised industries or other public bodies.
§ Mr. Fowler[pursuant to his reply, 1 December 1980, c. 93]: The figure for my Department in 1979–80 was £13,800. In 1980–81 we expect expenditure on fees related to the introduction of private capital into NFC, BRB and HGV Test Centres to be some £130,000. Fees will also be due to chartered surveyors negotiating the disposal of leases of motorway service areas, but the timing of payments is uncertain.
