Mr. Field

asked the Secretary of State for Defence if he will list those reports from Royal Commissions, official departmental committees or from ad hoc advisory groups established by his Department which have been published during the past 10 years by his Department (either totally or jointly with other Departments) and which have yet to be debated in the House.

Mr. Pym

My Department has published the following reports during the period in question, none of which has been specifically debated in the House.

  1. (i) Army Cadet Force Review Committee Report, 1971.
  2. (ii) Report of the Defence Lands Committee, 1971–73.
  3. (iii) Report of the Committee of Inquiry into financial control of catering in the Services, 1973.
  4. (iv) Report of the Defence Medical Services Inquiry Committee, 1973.
  5. (v) Report of the Naval Welfare Committee, 1974.
  6. (vi) Report of the Army Welfare Inquiry Committee, 1975.
  7. (vii) CAROT report; review of the pattern of officers training and education, 1975.
  8. (viii) Report of the Committee on the study of wastage in the TAVR, 1978.
  9. (ix) Report of an investigation into radiological health and safety at the Ministry of Defence (procurement executive) Atomic Weapons Research Establishment, Aldermaston, 1978.
