§ Mr. ChannonI am not sure to what the hon. Member is referring. My right hon. and learned Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer told the House on 24 November that, subject to the necessary legislation, for the 1981 uprating public service pensions will be treated in the same way as retirement pensions. Any further action on index-linked public sector pensions will follow the report of the Scott inquiry, which is expected this month.
