§ 18. Mr. Cookasked the Lord Privy Seal if he will make a statement on the decision by Her Majesty's Government to support at the United Nations the credentials of the Pol Pot régime as the Government of Kampuchea.
§ Mr. BlakerOur vote for the report of the credentials committee did not imply any weakening in our detestation of the Democratic Kampuchean régime. Our vote with those of 72 other Western and non-aligned nations, was designed to register opposition to Vietnam's continued occupation of Cambodia and the puppet régime it has installed there. I have placed in the Library copies of our explanation of that vote and of our intervention in the General Assembly discussion on 16 October.
