§ Miss Maynardasked the Lord Privy Seal (1) if he is satisfied that the eight Hawk ground-attack planes recently supplied for training purposes to the Indonesian Government will not be converted for use in combat in East Timor;
(2) whether he will give an undertaking that no military supplies of any kind will be permitted to be exported to Indonesia until satisfactory arrangements have been made for a genuine act of self-determination in East Timor;
128W(3) if Her Majesty's Government have been in touch with the Indonesian Government to discuss the need for effective monitoring of aid distribution by independent observers.
§ Mr. Newensasked the Lord Privy Seal (1) if he will seek an agreement with the Government of Indonesia that future military supplies and equipment, including additional Hawk ground attack aeroplanes will not be used in East Timor and that until such an agreement is concluded no further deliveries will be made;
(2) what guarantees have been obtained from the Government of Indonesia that eight Hawk ground attack planes recently delivered for training purposes will not be converted and used for combat in East Timor.
