Mr. Albert Roberts

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will give favourable consideration to widows over 40 years of age not in receipt of the full widow's pension to be considered eligible for the full pension.

I have no proposals for changing the present provisions, whereby reduced rate pensions, varying according to the widow's age at the relevant time, are payable to widows not entitled to the full pension.
