Mr. Peter Robinson

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what is the estimated running cost of the temporary police post at Upper Galwally including maintenance, wages, energy costs, and so on.

Mr. Alison

The running cost from January 1979 when the temporary police post at Galwally was opened until 30 September 1980 was in the region of £34,560. This includes the costs of maintenance, heating and light and the estimated cost of wages. The police post is treated as part of the whole Upper Galwally site and no separate figure for rates payable on the police post is available.

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what are the hours of opening and number of Royal Ulster Constabulary and civilian personnel employed in any capacity at the police post at Upper Galwally.

The police post is open 9 am to 11 am and 7 pm to 11 pm Monday to Saturday. It is not the practice to give details of staffing at particular police stations.
