Mr. Latham

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will repeal the Building Control Act 1966, in view of the fact that its provisions have remained totally unused for 11 years.

Mr. Stanley

We have decided to seek the approval of Parliament to the repeal of the Act when a legislative opportunity becomes available.
