HC Deb 08 August 1980 vol 990 c422W
Miss Fookes

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will restrict the number of ports into which wildlife can be brought so as to ensure that the authorised ports of entry have sufficient Customs officers with the expertise to interpret wildlife regulations.

Mr. Peter Rees

I do not think that such a restriction is necessary. Guidance on the import restrictions on wildlife is supplied to all Customs officers and expert advice is available in cases of doubt.
