§ Mr. FowlerThe use of mathematical or computer models for formal type-approval test purposes has been infrequent to date. This method of determination has not yet been sufficiently developed to permit its use for type approval impact testing of motor vehicles. If in the future the development of this methodology is such as to make it suitable for that purpose, its use by low-volume producers of motor vehicles will be accepted.
