HC Deb 08 August 1980 vol 990 c496W
Mr. Frank Allaun

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what steps he is taking or is asking local authorities to take regarding the provision of housing accommodation to unemployed people wishing to move to areas where job prospects are less bad; and if he will indicate where these areas are.

Mr. Stanley

A number of provisions in the Housing Bill will help to make more accommodation available for people wishing to move, whether they are unemployed or not. The Department is working with the local authority associations in drawing up a new housing mobility scheme to provide for easier movement in the public sector. The location of job vacancies is a matter for my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Employment.
