asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what was the public take-up of first time insulation grants in existing private houses in the last 12 months to a convenient date and for each of the two previous years.

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment (1) how many of the 264 local authorities in Great Britain which replied to the industry's survey indicated that they had no intention of continuing or starting an insulation programme because of shortage of funds;

(2) amongst the 174 local authorities which indicated that they would allow some money for insulation work on their housing, what was approximately the average percentage of their previous year's expenditure.
