§ Mr. David MitchellDuring the period in question offers of selective financial assistance under sections 7 and 8 of the Industry Act 1972 amounting to £69.9 million were accepted by companies in Great Britain.
The total excludes assistance given to firms in Northern Ireland, assistance to the aerospace and shipbuilding industries and assistance for research and development.
The corresponding figure for regional development grant for the first six months of 1980 is £164.2 million.
