§ Mr. Humphrey Atkins[pursuant to the reply, 12 June 1980, c. 176]: I regret that information is not available on the number of persons who, having been granted bail in the magistrates' courts, have failed to present themselves for trial, appeal or sentence, and thus have committed offences under section 26(d) of the Prison Act (Northern Ireland) 1953, and this information cannot be provided without disproportionate cost; in relation to those granted bail by judges of the High Court under the Northern Ireland (Emergency Provisions) Acts of 1973 and 1978, I refer the hon. Member to the further information I have given today in answer to his question of 24 April 1980.
